Overview

The manager accepts the status quo; the leader challenges it.
Warren Gamaliel Bennis, Distinguished Professor of Business Administration, University of Southern California

Laboratory leadership and management remain two of the most challenging areas at current laboratory workplace.   The ever-increasing complex environment places challenging demands on staff at all levels.

Competent laboratory practitioners take full responsibility for their decisions and actions, even when events do not go according to their plans, especially while facing unexpected crises, poor ethics, incompetent management and hypercompetition.   It is therefore important to remain alert and up-to-date with leadership and management skills.  Effective in these areas can result in teamwork, excellence and sustained profits.

This workshop aims to address at middle to senior levels of laboratory practitioners by providing contemporary leadership and management concepts; enabling attendees to prepare themselves for the challenges they are likely to confront in their rapidly changing workplaces in the foreseeable future.

The 3rd LLMSIG Professional Development Workshop is an intensive face-to-face workshop.
It is short, sharp and specific.  This workshop provides opportunities to deepen and update your leadership and management knowledge.
