Overview

Light refreshments will be served while Professor Ray Kearney and Mrs Elma Kerney give a short presentation of the significance of the Lane Cove Bushland Park and its mycological diveristy.

 

Following this, you will be taken on an expert guided foray (non-collecting) through key parts of the Bushland Park!

 

Lane Cove Bushland Park

Lane Cove Bushland Park is a site in the middle of a high-density residential area about 4 km from the Sydney GPO.

Centred about a tributary of Gore Creek, the warm temperate gallery forest has an assemblage of at least 25 species of the family Hygrophoraceae (Fungi, Basidiomycota, Agaricales, Hygrophoraceae).

 

Professor Ray Kearney is Associate Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Immunology, The University of Sydney.

Ray & Elma Kearney are members of the Sydney Fungal Studies Group Incorporated.
